SUNRISE PROPOSAL AT WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC
You know the sweetest part about surprise proposals… watching the guys figure it all out and plan it on their own!
I mean, once they find me I am there to help… but still, they thought of a photographer! The wanted this moment to be documented and for you guys to have these photos to look back on and cherish, show friends and family… about puts tears in my eyes just thinking about it.
But this proposal was so magical…
Imagine the most perfect sunrise on the beach… colors are breathtaking, birds are chirping, waves crashing… and you just about have the whole beach to yourself.
He told her they were going to watch the sunrise and take cute phone photos for her instagram, she was so happy and excited to just be there in the moment with him. Something so seemingly simple. However, he had other plans!
Little does she know that I followed you guys out there. I am sitting on the bench a few yards away with a zoom lens on my camera, waiting to capture the most exciting moment… YOUR PROPOSAL!
He drops to a knee, and you guys share this sweet and intimate moment together. I do not ambush, I just give you guys this moment to yourselves, documenting from a far. Nothing like ruining the moment by myself just running down the beach and pointing a big a** camera in your face. :) So I give you guys the moment, let it sink in.
Then I walk down, ‘CONGRATULATIONS’, and we take a few more photos! No stress, no frills, just totally having a blast in this moment and capturing it in the most authentic way possible.
As a photographer, I strive to capture genuine and authentic moments, to tell your story in a cinematic and documentary style. I believe that photography has the power to capture not just what things look like, but how they feel, and in this sunrise proposal, I hope that I was able to do just that.
Witnessing moments like these reminds me of why I fell in love with photography in the first place. It is not just about capturing a beautiful image, but about capturing a feeling, a memory, a moment in time that can be cherished forever. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this couple's story, and I look forward to continuing to document moments like these that are filled with love, beauty, and emotion.
